Mathew graduated from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Podiatry also achieving the top marks in the final practical exams.
Throughout his professional career in podiatry Mathew has developed a broad range of clinical experience while working at Boots Footcare, Cardiff NHS and now solely with Feet in Focus. Mathew has over 11 years practicing experience with a wide range of patients from the general public, young and old and also elite athletes from a range of sports.
Before graduation Mathew was a semi professional rugby player and therefore has knowledge and the understanding of the needs and desire of the athlete and sports participant. He has always had a great interest in sporting performance, injury prevention and treatment.
Mathew’s philosophy is to continually update his knowledge, he regularly participates in a wide range of continual professional courses. Since qualification he has completed many courses, a small sample of these course include:
- Acupuncture for podiatrists
- Steroid injection for foot pathology
- Pharmacology for Podiatrists (enabling him to offer his patients antibiotics and steroid injections)
- Bond Solon Expert Witness Report writing course.
- Video Gait Analysis
- Advanced local anaesthetics
- Foot orthotic prescription
- Cryosurgery for verrucae
Mathew is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and a Member of The Society of Podiatrists and Chiropodists.

Barbara has been with the clinic since it opened at 20 Churchill Way. She lives in Cardiff, has a cat Rupert and is keen on reading, countryside and nature, and visiting anywhere in the world in her spare time.
